Roman Grishenin mentioned that escalation of a large number of regional conflicts could be observed in the world today. Eurasia frequently becomes their space as when the bipolar world was destroyed, the European system of security also collapsed.

According to the deputy executive director of the Gorchakov Fund, the main topics to be discussed today are competition, integration processes in the region, positioning of ideas of the Eurasian integration, history of success of the EEU, SCO and BRICS.

Executive Director of Institute for Economic Strategies and the International Research Institute for Advanced Systems, member of the Gorchakov Club, Doctor of Economics, Professor Alexander Ageyev discussed problems of digital transformation as a foundation for a dialogue between the EU and the EEU in the field of real economy during his presentation.

Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Economics, Professor and member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Sergey Glazyev dedicated his report to integration in the Greater Eurasian space on the background of contemporary challenges and threats.

The organizers stressed that the choice of topics for the roundtable was not accidental. Today, the world is rapidly changing under the influence of common challenges and threats to international security. Trends of globalization clearly point at deepening and expansion of integration relations. Eurasia, in this sense, presents a broad field for geopolitical transformations while economic integration of the countries on the continent fits in with the common world trends of the current peace-building opening bigger opportunities for the countries with developing markets: chances to modernize economy, increase the role in the world trade, decrease inequality and risks of social threats.
