“Tourism and Politics: Impact of COVID-19”. An online discussion at the Gorchakov Fund
On September 11, the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund will host online discussion “Tourism and Politics: Impact of COVID-19”.
Tourism is one of the areas of economy that has suffered the most during the pandemic. Many countries were restricting air and railway communications with other countries during the pandemic and have introduced limitations on national travel.
Experts from Russia, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Bulgaria, Serbia and Spain will evaluate mutual influence of politics and tourism. During the discussion the following topics are planned to be covered: did it make sense to close the borders while confronting the pandemic? How were countries supporting their national tourism industry? What are the prospects of tourism in the world after returning to normal life?
