The X Diplomatic Seminar ended with a meeting in the building of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea
The final day of the X Diplomatic Seminar was held in Simferopol in the building of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea, where historic events of the spring of 2014 took place.
On June 9, a meeting of the Council of Young Parliamentarians under Chairman of the State Council with participants of the Diplomatic Seminar was organized here.
Simferopol was presented by member of the Presidium of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea Sergey Trofimov, Secretary of the Council of Young Parliamentarians Anna Rubel, deputy of the State Council Rem Kiselev and others.
After presenting the program and other projects of the Gorchakov Fund, Head of Administration of Rossotrudnichestvo Olga Yevko told about the program of visits of young leaders to Russia.
Chairman of the Legislative Committee of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea informed the attendees about regulatory and legal framework for annexation of Crimea to the Russian Federation. Anna Rubel, in her turn, reminded how the parliamentarians, literally, had been defending in March of 2014 the same building where the meeting was taking place. According her, tremendous support to the parliamentarians was provided by the population of the region.
The participants discussed the Crimean issue from the perspective of international law and made comparison with Kosovo and the Donetsk People’s Republic/the Luhansk People’s Republic.
The guests of Crimea were interested in changes, which were taking place on the peninsula. They were told that in the past three years the governmental system had been created, basically, from scratch, and large-scale infrastructure projects were implemented. The Crimeans are confident in their choice despite all the obstacles, assured the organizers of the meeting.
The members of the Council of Young Parliamentarians urged the delegates of the seminar to publish information about the visit to Crimea and the state of affairs on the peninsula in their resources and social media.
