The II Youth Forum of the Potsdam Meetings. Opinions and comments

13 November 2017

The second Youth Forum of the Potsdam Meetings, organized by the Gorchakov Fund and the German-Russian Forum, opened in Moscow on November 13. The topic of the conference is “Russian-German Partnership: from Misunderstanding to Cooperation”.

Guests of the forum were welcomed by Executive Director of the Gorchakov Fund Leonid Drachevsky. He mentioned that the first meeting in such a format (on May 11-12) was successful. Its final document sparked interest. The head of the Gorchakov Fund was confident that the participants of the second meeting would be able to address the most complicated issues of the bilateral relations during the discussions.

This confidence was shared by Chairman of the Management Board of the German-Russian Forum Matthias Platzeck. He reminded that President of Russia Vladimir Putin had given a positive assessment of the economic ties between Moscow and Berlin during his recent meeting with his German colleague Frank-Walter Steinmeier. This, according to Platzeck, is also supported by statistical data.
