The Gorchakov Fund has sponsored a summer school in Yakutia for future diplomats from Russia and China

The International Summer Diplomatic School is taking place in Yakutia with the support of the Gorchakov Fund. Sessions for high school students fr om Russia and China were organized by the Representative Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia in Yakutia, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), the Department of External Affairs of the Republic of Sakha, Republican Resource Center “Young Yakuts”, the Junior Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Sakha, NGO Intersphere of the Republic of Sakha and the Sterkh Foundation of the Republic of Sakha.

26 Chinese students, 10 of their peers from Moscow and 16 finalists of republican contest for students “Future Diplomat” came to the village of Oktyomtsy of the Khangalassky District wh ere the Junior Academy of Sciences of the Republic is located.
The organizes call the International Summer Diplomatic School a unique project of international humanitarian cooperation between the youth of Russia and China, an excellent communications platform for active cooperation of the younger generation from both countries, acquiring experience in public diplomacy, and developing proposals on current issues of cooperation of the two countries.
“The project targeting implementation of the diplomatic school won a grant of the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund. It happened because the experience of organizing republican contest “Future Diplomat” is known far beyond the borders of Yakutia”, the organizers are quoting representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia in Yakutia Nikolay Dyakonov.
The attendees of the school will participate in training sessions, communication an business games held in the following formats: “The Russian-Chinese Intergovernmental Commission Model”, “The BRICS Summit Model”, “The Shanghai Organization for Development – 2027 Model”, and meetings with respected experts from both countries. During the diplomatic games, the participants will be introduced to foreign affairs in the spirit of supremacy of law, development of mechanisms of civilized formation of opinions and joint decisions. The future experts in foreign affairs will discuss approaches of Moscow and Beijing to resolving key issues of the modern world order and major global and regional problems “on the sidelines” of multilateral and bilateral events. The sessions will end on August 20 by adopting final documents, which will include detailed practical proposals and addresses to the governments of Russia and China.
