SCO youth – for development of social entrepreneurship. Summarizing results of the conference sponsored by the Gorchakov Fund

Scientific Conference and Workshop “Development of the Common Sociocultural SCO Space for the Youth”, organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, All-Russian Public Organization “Russian Youth Union” and Tomsk State Pedagogical University with the support of the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund, ended in Tomsk.


According to press service of RYU, students and public leaders from eight SCO member states took part in the conference. They discussed prospects for development of youth public diplomacy in the SCO space, state of SCO educational institutions, and shared successful experience of social entrepreneurship in the SCO space.


As it was mentioned by Director of Center of International Programs of RYU Alexey Yezhov when summarizing results of the conference, the attendees of the educational event were able not only to share interesting experience, establish useful contacts, but also to support a number of youth socially significant projects of the SCO member states. In particular, project of RYU “School of Public Diplomacy”, which this year will be implemented on the territory of North Ossetia and in Khabarovsk, sparked special interest. Participants, ages 18-30, will be able to learn how to create and implement international projects targeting development of public diplomacy within the framework of the initiative.


In addition to that, following the results of the conference, the young leaders of the SCO member states presented a final resolution. The document included proposals to expand academic mobility of the students in the SCO member states, develop a media field within the framework of launching SCO International Youth Media Agency and social entrepreneurship for the youth, continues the source.

The organizers also invited the participants of the conference to take part in the activities of Youth Business Incubator in the SCO space, which will open in September on the platform of Moscow Energy Institute.
