Russian-Chinese Summer School at HSE: how it went
On June 30-July 7, the VI International Russian-Chinese Summer School in International Relations “The Role of Institutions in New Architecture of Global Governance” was held at the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs at National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE).
It had been organized by East China Normal University (Shanghai), Russia in Global Affairs magazine and the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund.
A key topic of the classes was multilateral cooperation within the framework of BRICS and the role of that club in global political and economic management.
Dean of the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs at HSE Sergey Karaganov, Vice Rector of HSE Ivan Prostakov, Deputy First Vice Rector of HSE Boris Zhelezov, Director of the Center for Russian Studies at East China Normal University Feng Shaolei, Head of the Department of International Relations at the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs of HSE Alexander Lukin and Professor at the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs of HSE Yuval Weber took part in the official opening ceremony of the school.
Well-known scientists and researchers, officials from the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia and the Ministry of Finance of Russia and professors of East China Normal University delivered lectures at the school. As it was reported earlier, the Gorchakov Fund held its own lecture on the topic of “Future of Great Eurasia” within the framework of the project. The lecture was given by Andrey Bezrukov, Advisor to the President of Rosneft and Associate Professor of Applied Analysis of International Problems at MGIMO.
After the seminar, the students made presentations on completed projects, each of which was devoted to resolution of modern problems and design of new strategies for development of global and regional institutions of multilateral cooperation.
The agenda of the working days was completed by Chinese and Russian evenings of culture.
