“One train – different speeds of the carriages. Results of the EU summit”. An online discussion at the Gorchakov Fund
On July 29, the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund will host online discussion “One train – different speeds of the carriages. Results of the EU summit”.
A seven-year plan of unification and the European economic recovery plan were approved at the EU summit on July 17.
During the online discussion, experts from Russia, Germany, Italy and Poland will discuss who won at the end and who will have to tighten a belt in the coming seven years. Why has that plan been strongly criticized by the majority of European parliamentarians? Has Great Britain won by exiting the EU shortly before the 2020 crisis? What is the position of Eastern Europe? What is the Three Seas Initiative planned by Poland?
Besides that, there is an increase in the number of people infected with the coronavirus in many EU countries and the health and safety regulations are being reinforced again. Will the economies of those countries cope with the second wave if it takes place? And how do ordinary people view those measures?
