Mikhail Shvydkoy: The German-Russian Forum survived the times of political storms
On March 15, the anniversary meeting of the German-Russian Forum, an influential non-governmental organization, which was created 25 years ago to promote development of relations between Russia and Germany in all spheres, will take place in Berlin. Mikhail Gorbachev, the first President of the USSR, and Lothar de Maizière , the first and the only Chairman of the Council of Ministers of GDR, who was not a member of SED (he headed the government of Eastern Germany until October 2, 1990), were its fathers.
