Matthias Platzeck live in Vesti: Active search for solutions of different problems took place at the Potsdam Meetings
Head of the German-Russian Forum Matthias Platzeck told about Russian-German relations,Crimea, the Minsk Agreements, and chances of Angela Merkel to become a Chancellor of Germany again in an interview to observer of VGTRK Daria Puskova.
In 2002-2012, he served as Minister-President of Brandenburg and the mid-2000s headed the Social-Democratic Party of Germany (SPD). He is a recipient of the Grand Cross with Star and Sash of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany. In 2014, he was one of the first to urge the West to recognize annexation of Crimea by Russia as a new political reality. He is considered to be close to Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany Frank Walter Steinmeier.
