Call for applications to participate in the Balkan Dialogue-2020

07 August 2020
The experience of World War II and its impact on the further events in the word history allowed identifying the common importance of the victory over Nazism. Nevertheless, the efforts to question the true nature of many historical events, diminish the role of the USSR in defeating Nazims and, if just vaguely, start re-evaluating the results of the war are taking place more and more often. As practice shows, history is a tool of the ideological war and the history of World War II remains one of the crucial battlefields of the scientific and psychological-informational struggle.

Unfortunately, many events celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Victory have been canceled due to the epidemiological situation. However, the Gorchakov Fund made a decision not cancel one of its traditional scientific and educational programs “The Balkan Dialogue”. Taking into account strict safety requirements, the Balkan Dialogue-2020 will take place online and will be dedicated to the problems of falsification and distortion of history of World War II. Thus, the project will continue the good tradition of the intercultural dialogue, keep its high level and not put the participants at risk.
