A panel discussion of the Gorchakov Fund will be organized at the XII RISA Convention
On October 21-22, 2019 MGIMO Alumni Association will organize the XII Convention of the Russian International Studies Association (RISA) at MGIMO under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia. The event will be held with the grant support of the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund. Top scientists and researchers in the area of foreign affairs will attend the event.

Topics related to national “soft” influence or its absence in South Caucasus, Central Asia, Europe and China as well as its conceptual basics and trends are planned to be discussed during the panel discussion of the Gorchakov Fund “Soft Power” of Russia in the Changing World” during the Convention.
Speakers will include: Marina Lebedeva (Deputy Head of the Department of World Political Processes of MGIMO), Sergey Markedonov (senior researcher of the Center for Euro-Atlantic Security of MGIMO), Sergey Masaulov (Chairman of the Association of Analysts and Experts “Izyskaniya Sredinnoy Azii”), Grigory Petushkov (Chairman of the National Youth Council of Russia) and Igor Denisov (senior researcher of the Center for East Asian Studies and Shanghai Cooperation Organization Studies of MGIMO).
The event will take place on October 22 at MGIMO under MFA of Russia (76 Vernadskogo prospect), Room 216 at 3:30-5:30 pm. All those interested in political “soft power” of Russia are invited to attend the panel discussion and ask questions to our speakers!
