At the Potsdam Meetings, which ended on the day when President of Russia Vladimir Putin gave flowers to Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel, and at the second conference Fort Ross Dialogue, which started in Veliky Novgorod right after Hillary Clinton’s appearance at a graduation ceremony at Yale University wearing a Russian ushanka, much time was dedicated to the bright past in relations between Russia and its western partners.
