“Russian-Georgian Cultural Ties under Modern Conditions”. A lecture in Tbilisi on March 12

On March 12, a lecture by writer and publicist Giorgi Lortkipanidze “Russian-Georgian Cultural Ties under Modern Conditions” will take place at the Primakov Russian-Georgian Public Center.

The speaker will introduce the audience to a short historical journey – from Count Vorontsv-Dashkov to establishing the Soviet power in Georgia and will provide a review of relations during the Soviet times.

The lecture will include information on drastic deterioration in cultural relations after the breakup of the USSR, main reasons for that process and lobbyists of the Georgian culture in Russia.

Giorgi Lortkipanidze will also talk about the current state of relations and their prospects, suggest ways out of the present situation through new cultural ties and discuss religious aspects of the cooperation.

The lecture will take place at the Russian-Georgian Public Center (2 Baku St., Tbilisi). Beginning - at 5:00 pm (4:00 pm Moscow time).
