Yevgeny M. Primakov

Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences; Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary; Doctor of Science, Economics.

Graduated from Moscow Institute of Oriental Studies and completed pot-graduate studies at Lomonosov Moscow State University. Worked as a correspondent in the Middle East. In 1970-1977 – Deputy Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the USSR Academy of Sciences. 1991 – Member of the USSR Security Council and Head of Central Intelligence Service. 1991-1996 – Head of Foreign Intelligence Service of Russia. 1996-1998 – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Council of Europe. 1998-1999 – Chairman of the Government of Russia. Permanent member of the Security Council of Russia until 1999. In 2001 was elected President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia. Author, academic advisor and managing editor of numerous published papers and studies.
