International conference “Russia and Turkey in the Modern System of Global and Regional Security” has been held with the support of the Gorchakov Fund

On October 29, the international students conference “Russia and Turkey in the Modern System of Global and Regional Security” was held at the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the support of the Gorchakov Fund and the Center for Oriental Studies, International Relations and Public Diplomacy.

 

According to information provided by the organizers, over 50 students from 20 universities in Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and from the Donetsk National University took part in the event.

 

At the plenary session, the participants were welcomed by First Vice Rector of the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Tatyana Zakaurtseva, Director of the Information and Press Department of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova, Deputy Executive Director of the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund Roman Grishenin, Deputy Head of the Department of International Relations of the Diplomatic Academy Tatyana Kashirina, Deputy Head of the Department of Oriental Languages of the Diplomatic Academy Aslambek Mozloyev, Associate Professor of the Diplomatic Academy and Director of the Center for Oriental Studies, International Relations and Public Diplomacy Vladimir Avatkov, and Deputy Chairman of the Council of Young Diplomats of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Vera Anisimova.

 

During the sessions, burning issues of global politics and providing security were discussed. Special attention was given to overcoming the Syrian crisis, resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and issues of providing security in the Caucasus.


Winners of the contest, held by the Center for Oriental Studies, International Relations and Public Diplomacy, were awarded certificates. Based on the results of the event, a collection of essays by the participants will be published.
