The VI annual international research and educational project “The Caucasus Dialogue – 2017”, organized by the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund in partnership with Institute of International Relations under Pyatigorsk State University, has opened in Pyatigorsk.
A key topic of the project this year is “Modern Geopolitical Processes and Economic Cooperation in the Caucasus”. Young politicians, journalists, scientists, students and post-graduates as well as representatives of governmental agencies from Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Abkhazia and South Ossetia are participating in the program.
The participants will discuss issues of economy, national security, problems of counterterrorism and extremism as well as external and internal factors affecting the situation in the Caucasus region.
Already for six years, the Caucasus Dialogue has served as a platform for constructive discussions, which in the future can serve as a basis for a discussion of existing regional problems and prospects for cooperation on a higher level.
The forum will take place on July 4-6.
